The First World Health Congress 2026, organized by the Shri Prakash Asha Research Knowledge Education Society (SPARKES India) in Indore in Madhya Pradesh, has firmly established India as a premier destination for international healthcare dialogue.

In a high-level partnership with WHO-India, the two-day event at the Anand Mohan Mathur Auditorium drew eminent scientists, academicians, and industry leaders from across the globe. By bringing together experts from Philippines, Australia, USA, Canada, South Korea, and Singapore, the congress underscored India’s growing influence in bridging the gap between Eastern and Western medical innovation and sustainable health solutions.

In his presidential address, Dr. Neetesh K Jain, president of SPARKES India, emphasized that the organization aims to serve as a catalyst for global collaboration. The vision presented was one of a robust ecosystem that promotes knowledge sharing and transformative leadership to address modern healthcare challenges. This international significance was further validated by the presence of high-ranking officials such as Dr. Deependra Singh, chairman of the Education Regulation Committee at the Pharmacy Council of India, and Dr. Shovan Majumder, a distinguished scientist from the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.

A primary pillar of the congress was the urgent need to prepare the future healthcare workforce for a rapidly evolving landscape. Dedicated sessions focused on the interface between the pharmaceutical industry and academic institutions, highlighting the future skills required for the next generation of professionals. Experts, including Dr Milind J. Umekar and Dr Anil Kharia, deliberated on how emerging trends in technology must be integrated into education to ensure long-term employability and professional sustainability in the healthcare sector.

The event also addressed the critical theme of the ethical integration of artificial intelligence in medicine. Under the banner ‘Redefining Global Health Through Ethical and Impactful AI Execution’, the congress hosted a Global Virtual Panel aimed at bridging theoretical innovation with real-world implementation. The discussions moved beyond simple automation, focusing instead on how AI can be used responsibly to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient care while maintaining the highest standards of medical ethics and human oversight.

Honouring the foundations of the industry, the congress conferred Lifetime Achievement Awards upon several visionaries who have shaped pharmaceutical education. Recipients included Prof S C Chaturvedi, Dr R S Gaur, Dr Piyush Trivedi, Dr D K Jain, Dr Sanjay Jain, and Dr P K Dubey. Additionally, the prestigious Shri Prakash Jain Memorial Award 2026 was presented to Dr Shovan Majumder for his outstanding contributions to scientific research, while the SPARK Global Excellence Awards recognized achievements in leadership, research, and global impact.

The congress concluded with a reaffirmation of the role of interdisciplinary research in solving complex health crises. The SPARKES Local Organizing Committee, including Dr Sunil K Dwivedi, Sarika Gandhi, Dr Jacky Dumbani, and Ankur Joshi, facilitated collaborative dialogues that explored the intersection of materials science, pharmacy, and clinical practice. These sessions provided a platform for students and delegates to engage in industry visits and academic exchanges that are vital for fostering a culture of high-quality, impactful research.

As the event drew to a close, Dr Neetesh K Jain expressed gratitude to the dedicated team, including Preeti Jain, Dr Anu Hardenia, Priyanka Soni, Neha Thakur, and Chetan Ranka, for their efforts in making the congress a success. By empowering youth and women in science and strengthening international academic ties, the World Health Congress 2026 has set a new benchmark for the future of global healthcare systems, said Dr Neetesh.
