MIT Pharmacy College, Mysuru organized a series of community-focused activities aimed at boosting public confidence in vaccines. The initiative was part of the National Pharmacy Week held from November 16-22, 2025 which emphasized the crucial role of vaccination in preventing disease outbreaks and safeguarding public health. Faculty members and student pharmacists actively engaged with the community, providing accurate information, addressing misconceptions, and encouraging responsible health practices through vaccination awareness campaigns.
This year’s theme for the National Pharmacy Weeks was ‘Trust your pharmacist, your immunity partner. Our aim is to strengthen public confidence in vaccines and stand out as a credible, accessible, and proactive pharmacist in community needs, said Prof R Raveendra, professor and head, department of pharmaceutics, MIT Pharmacy College, Mysuru.
The key focus areas to this are cross-sector collaboration as India's immunization success relies on this including pharmacists. By supporting immunisation drives, pharmacists help advance India towards Universal Health Coverage. Vaccine storage, documentation, and counselling and their caregivers. Pharmacists boost vaccine confidence by being credible, accessible, and proactive.
As part of the Gavi Alliance which issued the IRMMA framework: Identify, Reach, Monitor, Measure and Advocate, the aspect of zero-dose children was called to be implemented to target the outreach, follow-up, and equitable access to immunisation services for vulnerable populations .Also the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) issued the global campaign tilted ‘Think Vaccination, Think Pharmacy’. All this was adhered by the students of MIT College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, said Prof. Raveendra. |
